COMMON QUESTIONS ABOUT SPENCER'S

Straight answers about services, pricing, and what to expect.

You can walk on it after 24 hours, drive on it after 7 days, and full design strength is at 28 days. Spencer will tell you exactly when you can use each surface based on the mix and weather.

A slab is the horizontal pour you walk or drive on (driveway, patio, garage floor). A footer is the underground concrete pad that supports a foundation wall, post, or column. Most residential foundations involve both.

4 inches for passenger vehicles, 5–6 inches if you’ll be parking trucks or RVs. Spencer pours to code or above — never thinner than what the load requires.

Depends on the slab. Driveways and patios usually get fiber-mesh reinforcement in the mix; high-load slabs and foundation walls get rebar grids. Spencer specs the reinforcement when he quotes.

A properly poured driveway or patio in Northern Kentucky should last 30+ years with normal use. Cracks happen — that’s why Spencer puts in control joints. Tear-out and replacement is also part of the menu when older work has run its course.
