ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Where is Spencer's Outdoor Solutions located?
Spencer’s Outdoor Solutions is headquartered at 690 Elliston Mt Zion Rd, Dry Ridge, KY 41035. The business serves all of Northern Kentucky from this Grant County location, including Walton, Florence, Williamstown, Crittenden, Verona, Union, Burlington, Independence, Covington, Erlanger, Fort Mitchell, Fort Thomas, and the surrounding communities.
Is Spencer's licensed and insured?
Yes. Spencer’s, LLC is a Kentucky-registered limited liability company (filing 0951943, formed May 6, 2016) carrying general liability and commercial auto coverage. Certificate of insurance and lien-release documentation are provided on request before any commercial project begins.
Who owns the business?
Spencer’s Outdoor Solutions is owned and operated by Spencer Stephenson. Spencer runs the bid visits, the schedule, and the pour. The same person who quotes the job shows up to do it. No project managers, no call centers, no subcontracted job-site lead.
How long has Spencer's been in business?
Spencer’s, LLC was registered in Kentucky on May 6, 2016. Spencer Stephenson has been operating heavy equipment for roughly 20 years and was posting work publicly on Facebook under an earlier brand starting in 2011. Today the business serves Grant, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties.
What payment methods does Spencer's accept?
Spencer’s accepts check, cash, and most major credit cards for residential work. Larger commercial and builder projects use Net-30 invoicing on established accounts with W-9, COI, and lien-release documentation on file.
CONCRETE WORK
What types of concrete work does Spencer's handle?
Residential and commercial concrete: driveways, patios, sidewalks, slabs and pads, steps and stoops, pool decks, tear-out and replacement, stamped and stained decorative work, foundations, curb-and-gutter, and parking lots. Plus the related services that go with concrete work: excavation, retaining walls, drainage, and line pump.
How long does new concrete last in Northern Kentucky?
A properly poured concrete driveway, patio, or sidewalk in Northern Kentucky lasts 25 to 30 years. Pool decks, stamped concrete, and decorative work last roughly the same structurally; the decorative finish needs resealing every 3 to 5 years. Foundations and structural pours last the life of the building they support.
How thick should residential concrete be?
Standard residential flatwork is poured 4 inches thick. Driveways serving trucks, trailers, or RV parking go to 6 inches. Hot-tub pads and heavy-load shed pads pour at 6 inches. Spencer’s recommends the right thickness for the use case at the estimate visit.
Can Spencer's pour concrete in winter?
Yes, with cold-weather precautions. Pours below 40°F use accelerator additives, insulated blankets over the slab, and adjusted timing. Hard freezes still cancel a pour. Most concrete work in Northern Kentucky runs March through November; winter pours are case-by-case.
Does Spencer's tear out the old concrete?
Yes. Tear-out and haul-off are included in most replacement projects. The Bobcat T66 breaks up the old slab, the Kenworth dump truck hauls the debris off site, and the base is re-prepped before the new pour. One crew handles the entire workflow.
CONCRETE PUMPING
How much does concrete pumping cost?
Spencer’s line pump rates are published openly: $550 for the first three hours (includes 35-mile travel radius from Dry Ridge, 200 feet of three-inch line, pump setup, and operator), $50 per additional hour, $3 per yard pumped, $600 Saturday three-hour minimum.
What kinds of pours need a pump?
Any pour the ready-mix truck cannot back up to: walkout basement foundations, backyard slabs behind a house, retaining wall footers below grade, decorative pours through landscaping, second-story or below-grade commercial pours. If the chute won’t reach, the line pump will.
Is the pump available to other concrete contractors?
Yes. Spencer’s line pump is open to other concrete crews and contractors across Northern Kentucky at the same published rates. Insurance certificate, equipment specs, and references provided on request.
SERVICE AREA & SCHEDULING
What areas does Spencer's serve in Northern Kentucky?
Spencer’s Outdoor Solutions serves Grant, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. Specific towns include Dry Ridge, Walton, Williamstown, Crittenden, Verona, Florence, Union, Burlington, Independence, Covington, Hebron, Erlanger, Fort Mitchell, Fort Thomas, Newport, and surrounding communities. The standard 35-mile service radius from Dry Ridge covers the majority of Northern Kentucky.
How fast can Spencer's start a job?
Free estimates are returned within 24 hours of the on-site visit. Most concrete and excavation projects mobilize 2 to 4 weeks out during the active pour season (March through November). Commercial subcontract work follows a similar timeline; emergency or time-sensitive work can sometimes be slotted into a gap within a week.
Does Spencer's work with builders and general contractors?
Yes. A significant share of the business is subcontract work for builders, GCs, property managers, and developers. Net-30 invoicing for established accounts, AIA-format pay applications on larger jobs, and COI/lien-release documentation provided on request. See the For Builders & Contractors page for details.
What about snow removal in winter?
Spencer’s plows snow across Grant, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties with the same Bobcat T66 used for excavation in warmer months. Commercial parking lots, HOA roads, and apartment complexes are the bulk of the route. Residential driveways are offered as seasonal contracts (signed October or November). See the Snow Removal page for pricing structure.
